Background
The Tayler family has had a long and proud association with the
South African Wine Industry ever since patriarch Henry Tayler
established Henry Tayler & Ries in Durban in the late
1800's. The heritage was continued by his sons Charles and
Harry and then by third generation Taylers David and Jon before
the very successful company was sold to SFW in the late 1960's.
The Tayler family name continued to be associated with the
liquor industry through the 70's & 80's and, in 1996, the
fourth generation Mark Tayler - who had developed a solid
knowledge of all aspects of the wine industry after spending
several years working on various estates in France and Germany.
The company has spent the past five years building up a strong
portfolio of local estates & imported wines and has
embarked on an intensive consolidation and development program
designed to provide a solid springboard for an aggressive
expansion drive during 2009. |
